Exotics XCG7
By ED TRAVIS
As we have pointed out in the past Tour Edge Golf has a history of providing golfers with the latest in design, materials and construction at attractive prices and that continues with the two XCG7 driver models just announced this week. As the name signifies this is the seventh in the series and with a slight departure from previous years two clubheads are being offered, the now almost standard 460 cc size for average swing speeds and a smaller 440 cc targeted at better players. The larger XCG7 and the smaller XCG7 Beta share adjustability of the hosel to change the loft from 8½ to 12 degrees and a variable thickness ‘Power Grid’ on the sole to give that Tour Edge says helps the trampoline effect at impact. The four weights in the sole of the XCG7 are low and towards the rear of the clubhead to give a higher launch angle while in the XCG& Beta they are higher and positioned closer to the face for a lower launch angle. As with their other models Tour Edge offers a lifetime warranty and 30-day return policy. Standard shafts include the Fujikura Fuel and Tour and the Matrix Ozik White, Red and Black Tie shafts. The XCG7 carries a suggested retail of $299.99 and the Beta model is $349.99. ED TRAVIS | Golf News & Opinion Golf Illustrated
